maybe it won’t be fine
but how will you know?
“You’ll be fine,” they say.
With certainty, you’re dismissed.
“You’re overthinking.”
“It’s just a phase. It’ll pass,” they say,
like they’re sure things will turn around;
like everything has a happy ending.
“You’ll be okay. Hang in there.
It’s just for a little while…”
Says who?
Who says things will get better, that you’ll get your spark back?
Who says you’ll figure it out, that your path will be clear?
Who says you’ll become everything you’ve ever imagined you could be?
Who says you’ll reach your potential
and outlive your own expectations?
The cold, hard truth; no one knows for sure.
They’re just holding on to a speck of hope,
trying to make you feel better, lighter,
convincing you that it’ll work out someday.
They don’t know for sure.
Heck, they’re not even sure they’ll make it.
They’re just sharing their hope,
helping you through it.
But wait…
Who says things won’t get better?
Who says you won’t figure it out
and reach your potential?
Who says the spark won’t return,
that the fog won’t clear?
But how will you know?
How will you know if you give up now?
How will you know if you bury your dreams,
if you fit into society’s version of perfect?
How will you know you were meant for more,
that destiny wasn’t altered with your own two hands?
How will you know you won’t be the next big thing,
if you give up now?
Aren’t you curious?
Don’t you want to see what you’re capable of?

This is nice.. considering I'm one of those who people tell "you'll be fine" and I also say it to people, surely we don't know what the future holds.. but we have the choice to not give up, cos who knows... You could be the next big thing 🤷♂️🫠
Ugh uncertainty is so scary but we must try🥲🥲🥲
